making me happy

it comes the time of the year again where the hot summer days are getting less often and when we start to think about open fires and cuddly scarves. 
just as I was starting to feel a little miserable that the wooly socks were making a come back I thought I would take a look back at the patterns and work I have done that have made me happy and feel bright.

i am thinking of making a look book of my patterns and prints (just for myself). All different and not necessarily matching. Just the ones that I felt good designing too... none that had me tilting my head back and forth countless times.

so heres a snippit snap shot.

hi all, having a nice week? here its been hot, 26 yesturday and again today! Thursday will be 35!!

I have had a busy week this week, as im sure all of us have! I have been taking the time to get my etsy store up and running again. its taken a while but im happy now, I have done my about page and added about 10 items, most importantly my love themed ones in time for valentines day.

i have done a love birds print, similar to my header here and put that up too. at the moment I am not posting internationally but will be in the future.

I also have some exciting news. I will be featured in GT magazine this saturday. An at home feature at my house, eeekkk im a little nervous to see how it all turned out, but is very exciting, i will post some pictures up after the weekend.

I will also be doing the feb challenge again and will be having a give away for my followers. Im sorry I have been slack lately though, for my new followers this is not great- ekkk sorry :(

afternoon owls!

evening all...iv possibly had the busiest 2 days ever. work has been insane, and when i say insane i mean when you curse yourself for needing to go to the bathroom as there is SIMPLY just no time! and when you dont even have time to refill your water bottle but your mouth is so parched you can barely breath- cotton mouth has taken over!!

yeah you know those days? i bet you all know exactly what i mean.

so tonight on my way home from work, i knew i had to options:

1} hate the world, snap at everyone and everything, and 'blame' the ridiculously busy day iv had. possibly stick a hazardous warning sticker over my mouth OR

2} take a breath, turn on some turns in the car, sing all the way home. stop by the florist and buy my mum some flowers, and instead of hating the sight of anything that resembles a mac - get to it and design something special.

and guess what i chose... you guessed it option 2! and do you know what? i feel so good for it.

my mum loved her flowers, i was able to really enjoy doing this owl pattern and i saved everyone else from hating the world by NOT choosing option one!

what a great night...

on that note, there is only so much you can put your body through and im going to collapse with exhaustion..... niiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

(and yes i may be a little delirious!)

monday monday... thank goodness your nearly over

hi everyone, i hope that you had a great weekend. what a weekend i had. it was awesome...

the only bad thing i could report is that i was struck by the dreaded 'designer doubt' eeeekkkk.

the beast came on late sunday night whilst off in blog land. daydreaming and drooling away over fellow blogs whilst taking time out to shut my gawking mouth! not only this... the beast stuck around like an annoying in-law until the late hours of today (he may STILL even be lurking in the shadows!)

i hate it... i hate when he dawns on me/ us i should say (as im sure we all get a visit from the designer doubt troll beast!)

"im not good enough, i cant do what they do, look at that drawing... HOW did she do that! i hate them, i hate the world...file quit! apple z that whole experience and erase it from my bastard visual memory!"

talking today to my fellow designers at work...do you think its bad to have so many styles? i mean... i dont have a distinctive style of work... its a bit of this a bit of that. heeelllp! is it too 'final year of school, preparing your folio for the future... looook what i can do?'

totally oblivious to the fact that my folio probably looks like a stinkin' op shop of a thousand and one different items of moth ball infested clothes... pilly and so 1999.

anyway i would love to hear what people think about that rampage ramble iv just taken up several lines for.

this week im on a mission... to try and stick to a style, and one that i enjoy.
