making me happy

it comes the time of the year again where the hot summer days are getting less often and when we start to think about open fires and cuddly scarves. 
just as I was starting to feel a little miserable that the wooly socks were making a come back I thought I would take a look back at the patterns and work I have done that have made me happy and feel bright.

i am thinking of making a look book of my patterns and prints (just for myself). All different and not necessarily matching. Just the ones that I felt good designing too... none that had me tilting my head back and forth countless times.

so heres a snippit snap shot.

wednesday... im half way there

howdy! hope this email finds everyone well. tonights print resembles something that is very special to me. i have been wanting a sausage dog for so long now, and it's now just up to my husband to give me the a-ok! so i wait...i have already chosen his name and what colour he will be... oh how i wish.

for now, whilst i wait, he will just be the star of my illustrations!

i also enjoyed this theme too! night. i thought it was time victor got himself into an illustration... he has missed out on the challenge a bit! i have worked hard this afternoon, so that i can now reward myself with a cider and a magazine in the sun. have a great sunday everyone. x

colours colours

with my post yesterday on the inspiring colour pallet,
i decided to take it a little further tonight.

i had a little play around with the colours with some illustration. it made me think that i would very much enjoy these in a larger scale, wall decal of some sort!

it was funny, my mum saw the post yesturday and said "i love the ball design, but the skulls are not really my style". i bought the conversation up at work with my two bestest (and talented) of friends jess and jules...skulls, you either love them or hate them. and well me? i looovvveee them, although i did design a skull free friendly illustration tonight mum just for you!

woooo wiii christmas

getting in the christmas spirit.. and boy! do i love it! so here is a little foxy print i did with some matching festive pears. (WHAT A GEEK) but at the moment im listening to maria carey christmas... i know i know... i may loose some followers, but i dont care, i love it and i just love christmas. its in the air xx

creative womans circle

im so excited... this saturday im off to the creative womans circle in melbourne. there will be a speech from the great Shelley Panton who is an amazing potter. The event will be held at frankie and swiss' new studio... and i am busting at the seams to go! michelle the director of frankie and swiss has asked me to design some prints to hang up in her studio for saturday. im thrilled. a while ago i started this illustration of me on a bad day... the weekend ended up being a great one, but i never got round to illustrating it (well these one stretch the truth just a weeee bit!) . so these are the prints that will be displayed at frankie and swiss studio this weekend. yey! there will be so many wonderful ladies there who i admire... one being dawn tan. dawn illustrates alot for frankie magazine (aaahhhhh i know... tell me about it!). pllleaaaase hurry up saturday you are too far away for my liking!

instagram

crazy week again peeps, so sorry for the lack of attention to my blog. alot of my energy has been taken up by instagram, its called an addiction i think! addicted as alot of people may be...that top foxy was a very keen, very alive, very healthy sneak i met about 3 years ago. not afraid to eat food right out of my hand. that bottom foxy is not so alive, but still beautiful... poor ol thing. please note: i DO realize that being able to use instagram does not make me a photographer...just so we're clear! hehe

oh what a week!

woooo wiiii its friday, and i tell you what, it DID NOT take long to twist the top off my beer tonight!

how busy has this week been...wowsa!

i have so many jobs on at the moment and with the wedding planning and all, its all been crazy. i also hurt my back pretty bad and have been struggling this week.

hey, i must ask, (speaking of weddings) all of you married girls out there... how on earth did you get everything 'sorted'? i think im going to write a book...'the brides book, its ok not to know a thing!"

i mean seriously, no one tells you a thing. yes i admit 100 layer cake and green wedding shoes you are my true loves, but you dont help. if anything they make me go "hmmm ok devine, HOW can i get that?!" and unless youve done it all before, it actually is quite difficult.

im a graphic designer (who knows a bit about colour, and putting things together etc), so i can imagine those who have no clue where to start-gee!... RIGHT that book is coming!

Take a big breath! so because of this insane week, disheveled hair and all, it was really nice to come home to a warm home and just draw for 'me'. not for a job, not for something that was due last week, not to panic- just enjoy.

this is what i did tonight, and really enjoyed just drawing to how i was feeling... i think it sums me up!!

mr hog and his merry friends... even victor got a guernsey!

hi, hope your having a great week. apologies for my lack of interesting posts this week... i dont need to go into it all... bla bla di bla bla, but very busy!

today i have been getting stuck into blog land. and very inspired by all the fantastic illustrators. dont you love those days! and the best bit about it was, that i was really enjoying looking through everyones blogs and didnt feel like i wanted to go home and set fire to my sketchbook or hurl the mac out the window.

i really got inspired and really got into it, heaps of ideas were flowing and it was awesome, i also couldn't have commented on peoples posts quick enough, i was having a great ol time in blog land. actually a good 3 hours or so. but thats not hard, one blog leads to another blog, then another, then look at that one, then ooo whos this, then oooooh she is brilliant, then oh 'she knows her!' gee i love blog dazing!

i came across an illustrator tamara henderson (yes i know your thinking... 'clare where the hell have you been!') and i was SO into her work, i loved how many posts she did on just gorgeous little animals, and i thought- right i want to do that! so thank you tamara for the inspiration, (by the way you are incredibly talented).

anyway, here is a little woodland print i did tonight, all pumped with pen (well illustrator pen tool) in hand.

the hedge hog i blogged about earlier got a mention, and even victor snuck into this one.

(this actually was not even what i designed that hedge hog for...haha ah well!)

hi all.... geeeeeee! i have been extremely slack with my posts of late. I have had a busy few weeks, moving out of our townhouse (waah), work has been insanely busy and with all the wedding plans- poor old victor fox blog was left out of the equation.

not much to post on today (sorry) just a small f print. thank goodness for fridays i say.
